Delrin® AFDE588

Delrin® AFDE588 Rods, Plates & Tubular Bar

Delrin® AFDE588 material is named after navy ship USS Peiffer DE-588, which was a Rudderow-class destroyer escort in the United States Navy during World War II. The USS Peiffer DE-588 earned one battle star.

DELRIN® AFDE588 is a 20% PTFE fiber filled homopolymer acetal thermoplastic. Delrin AFDE588 offers low friction and long wear life for moving parts. As a result, bearings machined from this material can operate at higher speeds while exhibiting reduced wear. These bearings also have very low slip-stick behavior due to highly correlated static and dynamic coefficients of friction.
